Make Mary better

Hello from Mary

Hi All,

Hope everyone had a beautiful day. My day started out good. I'm feeling stronger each day. Other than the stomach everything else is good.
Chemo was tolerated better this week than last. Last week I had an extra, stronger med that they gave me with Chemo. I will get it every two weeks. It is used to starve off and kill the cancer cells. Maybe that is why it was rougher last week. I guess I'll find out this thursday when I get it again.

Dennis and I went to church service this morning. The minister brings his service to the hospital floor since it is hard for the patients to go down to the chapel. It is nice to fellowship with the other patients. it gives me a chance to meet everyone. Dennis knows everybody since he is out and about everyday and talks to them all. Most of the patient's families stop by to introduce themselves and say hello to me. They feel like they know me already because of Dennis. There are people from all over the country that are here. This is indeed a good place to get treatment.

We had shrimp and prime rib for dinner. It was good. Most of the food is really bad but today was a nice surprise. Weekend meals leave alot to be desired. I really miss good home cooking and I am looking forward to being home and having Nudge (Dennis' grandma Rose) cook for me.
You all know how Dennis and I love to cook! So, the food has been a nightmare. I was so sick before that food did not really interest me. You can tell I must be feeling better to be talking about food.

After dinner, Dennis and I went for a walk. I am really trying to get my strength back. We just walked down the hallway and back but at least it is a start. I have to take baby steps to gain back my muscle. It felt pretty good. I will try to go a little farther each day. It was nice to get out of the room without being in a wheelchair.

I want to let you all know what an important part you all have been in my life. Going through this sickness brings all of that to light. I cannot begin to tell you what it means to me that you all care this much. I am truly blessed and I thank you and love you all.

God Bless
Mary
