There is a WAR at my door

Hi Aunt Mare
I have a funny war on my lawn. I feed the pigeons every day -I cook them ice, bread, dog food whatever. Well a few weeks ago on a Sunday I saw something go flop flop on the lawn and I went "oh no one of the birds is injured" I take in injured birds and they stay in my bathroom until they are ready to face the world. Well the flop-flopping mass swooped up into the tree and it was a HAWK that had a pigeon and it was plucking the pigeon in the tree-I almost fainted.
Well now, a few days ago I heard the CAW CAW CAWING of the Crows. So I went out to see what was going on. I have a MURDER of crows (that is what they call a flock of crows, isn't that odd?) that hangs out wih the pigeons and the HAWK was back and the CROWS were DIVE BOMBING AT THE HAWK!!! ONE BY ONE THEY SWOOPED DOWN AFTER THE HAWK THAT WAS PERCHED HIGH UP AT THE TOP OF THE TREE!! They were like fighter jets after that hawk. It was unbelievable how the crows had ganged up on the hawk. I think there must be some crow babies and the hawk was looking for lunch. Well finally the hawk had had enough of the crows and their big mouths and he flew away.
I took pictures of the warring birds the crow is on the bottom with his mouth open and the red tailed hawk is on the top. I know the hawks nerves were spent cause those crows made a LOT of noise.
Funny how they are HUH?
love you des
