Relay
Thanks Angel, for making everyone aware of this.
Yes, Jim and I are very active locally with United Way, Juvenile Diabetes, Breast Cancer, AIDS awareness and of course, Relay for Life. I even had my photo taken with a local news anchor last year.
It really is a shame that it sometimes takes personal trauma before people do something to help those who need help. Mary was an inspiration to a lot of people. I remember when she used to go to the homeless shelter and volunteer time. She gave us the "Live Strong" bracelets long before she was diagnosed.
One of my favorite sayings: "What have you done today to make you feel PROUD?" Oprah has taken that motto and is putting it on shirts, but it was around long before she started saying it. But it is still a great idea.
Anyway... Didn't mean to get on a soap-box.....

Scott, I have to say based on what Mary has told me about you and Jim thru the years, your involvement does not surprise me one little bit..... that is a good thing!!
I am glad to hear you are sooo involved in so many important committees, actually off line, I would like to talk to you more about how to get involved in another one of the ones you are in, in my area..... When is your relay? I would love to make a luminaria for Mary for yours too!! Just give me details in the future!
