update date from Mary
Hello All,
Sorry it has been awhile, lots of stuff going on. Monday's surgery went well. The chest tube will be a pain now but I can live with that just knowing that that is the last surgery I will be needing. The chest xray looked good so there is nowhere for any fluids to collect in my lungs. (Thank you Lord). Now I can concentrate getting my strength back. I have been having stomach pain and really bad dry heaves. Seem to have that under control. Not sure if it is the Chemo that is giving me the reaction. Wed. I was hoping to have the tube removed did't go. Restless night with the tube. Thursday morning couldn't getting fast enough. Tube was removed. (Instant Relief). Chemo should be anytime now. Had Chemo this afternoon late. Everything went will. Next three days is the part I need to get through. I know what to expect and I am prepared. I will need all those positive vibes everyone. THANKS.
Friday Morning
Good Morning All,
Had a good night after Chemo. Still a slight problem with my stomach pain. Took meds for it and was fine. The Chemo and all the meds seem to cause constipation. I am taking a natual product called Senna Syrup twice a day. It is doing the trick. Still taking tylenol for the the pain. I do not take any narcotics at all. I am pleased with that. It seems to be a huge problem of Oxy-Cotin addition. It is easy to do and the devil t get off. DO NOT TAKE IT IF YOU CAN STAY AWAY FROM IT. If you do. make sure that you ask your Doctor three things: 1. what is your dose, 2 how long you will be on it, 3what is your exit plan to get weened off it. Very important you make them answer that and stick to it. I had to detox and have been told that it is worst that being addicted to heroin. My doctors were amazed at my determination to get clean but I felt I had no choice. Everybody knows how I feel about drugs. Dennis was my life line in getting me talked through the nightmare of detox. I was actually out of my head and thank God Dennis was with me to make me sit up look him inthe eye and talk to him about what I was feeling. It has only made me believe even more so what my new role in life is to be. I willl talk to all of you about that later.
I am feeling great today. Looks like we might be getting discharged from the hospital floor and moving on up the the third floor guest bedroom that D. has up stairs. This is going to be strange getting out of this hospital bed and being able to go anywhere I want. All the nursing staff is available for us upstairs if we should need anything. Over course, I have the world's best nurse by my side. He doesn't miss a thing. He'll have all my meds and everything accounted for. I will be free to do as I please until my next Chemo treatment next thursday. Maybe my husband and I will go out on a date for dinner.
Now, here are a few personal notes:
